1969-1979

I was born in Dayton, Ohio, January 24, 1951 and grew up during the 50’s & 60’s in a family of five kids in New Carlisle, Ohio. In my young adult years I took courses in art at The Dayton Art Institute, Central Academy of Commercial Arts in Cincinnati, and the University of Cincinnati. My dream and goal was to work for Disney as an animator.

My life took a different course, however, when I joined the Air Force in 1971 became assigned to hospital administration until 1975. During my time in the military I became “born again” in a little Baptist Church in Fort Walton Beach, Florida on January 9, 1972. In 1973 I received new orders to Anchorage, Alaska where I met my wife, Roseann in a Christian coffee shop. We were married on May 11, 1974.

While I was in Florida, I received my calling to the ministry, but it was in Anchorage where I received my theological foundation in the Bible College of a charismatic church called, Abbott Loop Christian Center (ALCC). After I was discharged from the Air Force in 1975 I was ordained as a pastor by the leadership of ALCC in November 27, 1975 and then sent out on January 11, 1976. My team consisted of my wife, our infant daughter, and and four other people to start our first church in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. We were the 24th team to be sent out of ALCC.

After seven years, my first church was established with 350 people, I moved my family to Oregon in 1983 to a sister church in our network. My assignment there was to pioneer a part-time Bible School. We were there for three years.

After the school was established, we moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1986 to plant our second church with a team of forty people who needed a pastor. The church grew to 600 people.

1994

In 1994 we moved to Atlanta, Georgia for a much needed sabbatical. It was in Atlanta that I earned my Bachelors in Biblical Studies (1995), my Masters in Theology (1996) and my Doctorate of Ministry (1997), all through Logos Christian College & Graduate School in Jacksonville, Florida.*

During my sabbatical in there, I also worked as a freelance artist for Penny Lane Publishing* and developed a large inventory of images. You can see some of my art on this site and order any prints I have available.

I also wrote a novel in Atlanta called The Unveiling, an interpretive fiction of “The Book of The Revelation.” It was published through WinePress Publishing in 1997 and sold out as one of their bestsellers. If you’d like, at a future date this year, you may purchase my revised edition of the book when I publish it as a second edition. Currently ou can find copies of the first edition on Amazon.com.

As I traveled to a number of churches across the country I taught seminars on the Book of The Revelation and sold my novel as a companion resource to the seminar. In my time with the pastors I received nudges from the Lord to return to pastoring a church of my own. After much prayer, prophetic confirmation, and encouragment from my mentors and colleagues, Roseann and I moved from Atlanta to Davidson, North Carolina to plant our third church in March of 1998.

We called it River’s Edge Community Church and had our first service on January 24, 1999, with 16 people. Later that year, I went on to complete my Ph.D. in Theology in 1999 with Logos Christian College.*

I now reside in Davidson, NC with my wonderful bride, Roseann. Our adult children, along with our granddaughter, followed us here and live nearby. I am privileged to serve and pastor our vibrant, imperfect church next to an ivy league college. I also serve as an apostle to a network of ministries and churches called Vanguard Network International.*

This is my story and I’m still a work in progress on the Potter’s wheel.
